HERTFORDSHIRE, UK, February 26, 2009 /Cancer PR News/ -- Today,Tuesday 24th February the Grove House official Midnight Walker team plan to take part in the 2009 Pancake Race at noon in St Albans Town Centre.
A team of four Midnight Walkers will kick start their preparations for the 10 mile Midnight Walk taking place on 27 June 2009 with the annual pancake race.

Paul Parrish Fundraising Director for Grove House Hospice said: "We are making the challenge even harder for ourselves with the ladies planning to run in heels and the men in skirts. The Midnight Walk is all about women having fun walking together whilst at the same time raising vital funds for Grove House Hospice. We may not win the overall race but we certainly plan on fun while at the same time raising the profile of the Midnight Walk."

The Midnight Walk aims to attract over 1,500 women walkers and for the first time ever men dressed as women will be allowed to participate. The event is being sponsored by Willows Farm, who are offering a free annual family pass for the individual that raises the most money and Energie Fitness for Women who will be offering free training sessions to registered walkers.

The Midnight Walk is one of the key fundraising events for Grove House Hospice and this year they are hoping that the event will raise in excess of GBP150,000. The launch of the new Hospice at Home service and the uncertain economic climate make continued and increased fundraising more important than ever.
Women (and men in skirts) who are interested in taking part in the Midnight Walk can now register online at www.midnightwalk.org
